The gear we run

We use an iPEK Rovion crawler camera system, the same class of equipment used for council and water authority pipeline work. It handles everything from 150mm diameter pipes up to 1200mm commercial pipes, with cable runs of up to 300 metres, and the camera head pans, tilts and zooms in high definition. Cracks and defects that a basic drain camera would drive straight past show up clearly. As far as we know, there’s no other system like it operating on this part of the coast.

How it works

We feed the crawler into the pipe through an access point and drive it down the line while the footage comes up live on screen. Root intrusion, collapses, build-up, anything causing trouble, we see it as it happens and record the lot. You get a clear answer on the spot, not a theory.

• Tree root intrusion
• Cracked, broken or collapsed sections of pipe
• Blockages, grease and build-up
• Displaced or open pipe joints
• Bellies and low spots holding water
• The exact location and depth of the problem

One crew, start to finish

Jetting and camera work usually means two contractors: one to clear the line, another to inspect it. We carry both. The camera goes in first so we know what we’re dealing with, the jetter clears it, then the camera goes back in to confirm the line is actually clean. One booking, one crew, job proven at the end.

Who uses it

Homeowners chasing a recurring blockage, plumbers who need a second set of eyes in the line, builders after sign-off on new stormwater and sewer, and anyone responsible for larger pipes and long runs that a standard drain camera can’t reach. If the problem is underground and you can’t see it, this is where you start.
