Non Destructive Digging

Hydro excavation that exposes pipes, cables and services without damaging them.

Non destructive digging, also called hydro excavation, uses high-pressure water and a powerful vacuum to dig with precision. It's the safe way to excavate around underground services, and on plenty of sites it's the only way that makes sense.

How it works

High-pressure water loosens the soil and the vacuum draws it straight up into the truck. No bucket teeth, no guesswork. What's left is a clean, accurate hole and undamaged services.

What it's used for

  • Potholing to locate underground services before excavation
  • Exposing pipes, cables and conduits for repair or connection
  • Digging in tight-access spots where an excavator won't fit
  • Working around tree roots without harming the tree
  • Post holes and footings near known services

Why not just use an excavator?

Because one nicked fibre line or burst water main can cost more than the whole job. If there's any chance services are in the ground where you're digging, hydro excavation takes the risk off the table.
